When he was 20 years old, he emigrated to Australia.
But then he came back and opened his first artist studio in the old town of Bern in 1971.
Interested in everything that happens in the world, he still traveled a lot, including New York, Hong Kong or through Russia and Japan.
In 1982 he married Barbara M. Scheidegger. With her he has two wonderful daughters, both of whom are now married.
In 2014 Housi and Barbara purchased the Rubigen Manor house and created an art and sculpture park.
The sculpture park and gallery can be visited every Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
